DC Chamber’s newest Chairman’s Club Member!

The Douglas County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce its newest member of the 2011 Chairman’s Club: Rosco Sayyar, Partner at Sam & Rosco’s Restaurant and The Centre at Arbor Connection.  The mission of the Chairman’s Club is to convene community-minded, senior level business people to be visionaries for the Chamber and a voice for business in our community.

With over 20 years experience in the restaurant industry, Sayyar has successfully opened several restaurants with his partner, Sam Ahmed.  In 1986 they opened and operated Aldo’s Italian Restaurant which quickly became a popular dining destination in Douglasville.  Aldo’s expanded and the teamr opened 3 other Aldo’s which were eventually sold in 1996.  In 2000, Sam and Rosco, built and opened Sam & Rosco’s Restaurant located on Douglas Boulevard.  “This was a very memorable day for me in my career,” Rosco commented, “not only was I fulfilling my dream of being a successful restaurateur but also celebrated the success with the opening of Sam & Rosco’s on my father’s 75th birthday.  Finding the balance between work and family was very important for me and this day was the beginning of that.”  Following the success of Sam & Rosco’s, the team opened The Centre at Arbor Connection in 2007.

Rosco has been actively involved with the DC Chamber for many years.  Since 2008, The Centre at Arbor Connection has catered and housed the Chamber’s Annual Awards Banquet each February.  Members also enjoy Sam & Rosco’s appetizing catering at many of the monthly GreyStone Power Luncheons held at the Downtown Conference Center.  Sayyar is proud to be a member of the Chamber.  He stated, “Being a Chairman’s Club member for 2011 is an exciting endeavor for both of my businesses.  The Chamber gives me the opportunity to network and get together with others in the business world and being a member of Chairman’s Club is taking those relationships a step further by giving me the opportunity to deal with business leaders and government officials one-on-one.  This will help me personally influence the community and the future of Douglas County.”

The Chairman’s Club represents businesses and individuals who have chosen to go the extra mile in their support for the Chamber and its mission; they do so because they believe that the voice of business must be heard. They are also leaders who invest time and money toward the job creation, quality of life, workforce development and marketing goals of the community. These top decision-makers develop valuable relationships among key business and political leaders and lend expertise on issues critical to their corporate goals and to the community’s growth and development.
